THE PERFECT FRAME ADHESIVE - Part 2

RhinoBond Instant Frame Adhesive with Activator (Primer)
 Part 2 of our Frame Adhesive story continues with RhinoBond that is an Instant Frame Adhesive available in a Variety of Grades. The grades include:  1) Performance – that is the highest grade of frame adhesive on the market today. It is used to bond mesh to screen when stretching at a very high tension of
40 Newtons +;

2) Economy – this a cost saving frame adhesive  that also has bonding power of up to 30+ Newtons. Use this product when performance grade tensile strength isn’t paramount;

3) Toughened - this is the most widely-used grade of frame adhesive used. It has been designed specifically for the textile industry when screens are being stretched at approximately 25 Newtons.  This product also has greater flexibility than the Economy and Performance grades.

Additional characteristics of RhinoBond:
Cures at the Speed of Light – when the frame adhesive has been applied to mesh and frame and then sprayed with an aerosol or pump spray activator (primer), RBP 1500, the adhesive will cure within 10-30 seconds dependent on the grade of product used (Performance, Economy, Toughened). The frame can be used immediately.

Durability – the adhesive creates a permanent bond when bonding mesh to frame; it is abrasion resistant and stands up under wear and tear during the daily reclaiming of a screen for reuse (using chemical screen and press wash). RhinoBond can be removed with a frame adhesive remover like ARP 2600.

The Minimal or Low Odor Factor – what can we say about this other than it is important that a screen maker NOT be overwhelmed with an odor-producing product, so viola! RhinoBond has a very low odor.

Multiple Viscosities – RhinoBond is available in a range of viscosities from  thin to  thick viscosities. For example the lower the product number (RBA5) the thinner it is and the easier it is to penetrate through high mesh counts.  The higher the product number (RBA900) the thicker the product and   the easier it is to penetrate low mesh counts (25-85) as the frame adhesive will fill the open areas between the threads to offer a secure bond.

For screen makers who don’t inventory multiple viscosities, the most versatile and widely-used product on the market available today is a 100 cPs (viscosity) product offered by RhinoTech. This is a middle of the road frame adhesive that works on most commonly used mesh counts, 110-260, in the textile screen printing industry.
