During another training session with Jesse (a digital printing newby who is quickly gaining ground), the topic of the day was learning how to digitally print hats/caps using excellent and weedless SingleStep ™ heat transfer paper.

The Technique.

Learning to print on a curve takes a little finesse. This is obtained by figuring out the amount of "tug" needed to get the hat in correct position on the platen. It is understanding the "touch" and the "feel"  of the heat press when applying heavy, medium and light pressure that is especially significant when printing on a multi-paneled hat with seams. This is only gained through trial and error and several test hats. But...learning the technique and becoming one with the heat press paves the way to your success as a digital printer and in business.

Adding the Bling Factor with Textile Metallic Foil from RhinoTech.

As you've seen in the video, adding a small amount of Foil increased the look and value to the printed hat/cap. In comparison to the small amount invested in the foil, actually, it's pennies, and the amount you can eventually charge for a hat with increased dimension and interest, it's well worth the effort and money.

Cost to the Digital Printer.

Digital printing affords a cost effective entrance to a creative, fun and lucrative field due to the affordability of equipment and supplies. For example, the most complete, latest, most exciting digital printing system can be purchased for under $4,000 that is the RT SunAngel Package. This includes heat transfer paper, printers and toners that are vivid and bold. RhinoTech also offers equipment packages for the start-up digital printer in a small, studio space or for commercial screen/graphics printers and embroiderers who want to capture all short-run printing projects.

We are most appreciative of your interest in RhinoTech equipment, products, accessories and services for digital, screen and graphics venues.
