Environmentally Safe Screen Degreaser for Graphics and Textile Screen Printers

RhinoTech presents DGG² 2200 Degreaser that is for graphic and textile screen printers looking for safe,"green", user-friendly products. It is a ready-to-use, highly effective grease cutting product and specially formulated for screen cleaning prior to applying emulsion to the screen before each stencil preparation. This degreaser allows for non-abrasive fabric treatment, acting as a wetting agent for use on all synthetic and wire screen mesh. It offers an even sheeting of water for complete uniform stencil adhesion to improve film lamination and bonding of direct photo emulsions. The end result is the removal of dust, dirt, finger prints, oil and other foreign elements. This degreaser is biodegradable and environmentally-sensitive.

High Pressure Screen Frame Cleaning System by RhinoTech

 Filmed at the Imprinted Sportswear Show in Long Beach, we give you  the newest screen printing Screen Washing System to hit the industry in 2012! But first, we want to thank Jonathan from Catspit Productions (see this & other RhinoTech "how-to" videos all month @ youtube.com/catspitproductions) who deemed this a cool, highly worthy cleaning system and then helped us produce this video.

The best feature of the 2536 High Pressure (HP) screen cleaning system is that it offers a way for the operator to gain a controlled environment in which to: develop and degrease screens, reclaim screens; perform ink removal, stencil and haze removal (to banish ghost images) – all in one box. The RhinoClean 2536 holds up to 1/25″ x 36″ screen frame or 2/20″ x 24″ frames.

By bundling multiple functions this way,  graphics and textile screen printers have an improved method to handle what the general consensus is “the worst job in the shop”.

As an example, to develop a screen in this high-pressure screen washing system, the operator is able to adjust up to 1,500 PSI. With an effective traveling arm and rotation of the spinner that has a timed cycle, consistency is gained during the developing process whether you make two or 200.

Another great attribute is its compatibility with Water Filtration Systems (the M-10) and, of course, RhinoClean Green² chemicals in an effort to minimize the screen printing industry’s carbon footprint on our mother earth.
And to go a step further in our eco-sensitive mode, the addition of a Water Filtration System  that is compatible to the 2536 HP will enable a filter media to filter out solids prior to water going down the drain.

Other features of the RhinoClean 2536 HP Screen Frame Cleaning System: Polypropylene Construction, Chemical Resistance, a Traveling, Two Headed Rotating Spray Wand and Easy Clean Drain.

THE PERFECT FRAME ADHESIVE - Part 2

RhinoBond Instant Frame Adhesive with Activator (Primer)
 Part 2 of our Frame Adhesive story continues with RhinoBond that is an Instant Frame Adhesive available in a Variety of Grades. The grades include:  1) Performance – that is the highest grade of frame adhesive on the market today. It is used to bond mesh to screen when stretching at a very high tension of
40 Newtons +;

2) Economy – this a cost saving frame adhesive  that also has bonding power of up to 30+ Newtons. Use this product when performance grade tensile strength isn’t paramount;

3) Toughened - this is the most widely-used grade of frame adhesive used. It has been designed specifically for the textile industry when screens are being stretched at approximately 25 Newtons.  This product also has greater flexibility than the Economy and Performance grades.

Additional characteristics of RhinoBond:
Cures at the Speed of Light – when the frame adhesive has been applied to mesh and frame and then sprayed with an aerosol or pump spray activator (primer), RBP 1500, the adhesive will cure within 10-30 seconds dependent on the grade of product used (Performance, Economy, Toughened). The frame can be used immediately.

Durability – the adhesive creates a permanent bond when bonding mesh to frame; it is abrasion resistant and stands up under wear and tear during the daily reclaiming of a screen for reuse (using chemical screen and press wash). RhinoBond can be removed with a frame adhesive remover like ARP 2600.

The Minimal or Low Odor Factor – what can we say about this other than it is important that a screen maker NOT be overwhelmed with an odor-producing product, so viola! RhinoBond has a very low odor.

Multiple Viscosities – RhinoBond is available in a range of viscosities from  thin to  thick viscosities. For example the lower the product number (RBA5) the thinner it is and the easier it is to penetrate through high mesh counts.  The higher the product number (RBA900) the thicker the product and   the easier it is to penetrate low mesh counts (25-85) as the frame adhesive will fill the open areas between the threads to offer a secure bond.

For screen makers who don’t inventory multiple viscosities, the most versatile and widely-used product on the market available today is a 100 cPs (viscosity) product offered by RhinoTech. This is a middle of the road frame adhesive that works on most commonly used mesh counts, 110-260, in the textile screen printing industry.

THE PERFECT FRAME ADHESIVE - Part 1

 It is not a speculation to say that every screen printer strives to uncover  the perfect FRAME ADHESIVE. So how do you choose a frame adhesive without hours and hours of research, sampling, trial and error? Do you rely on manufacturers, sales reps, word-of-mouth? The answer is YES, yes and YES.

And in this case, it is the infinite practical experiences of our very own screen printers who, when  newbies in the textile screen printing industry, eventually turned into entrepreneurial manufacturers to perfect a flawless blend for themselves. In doing so, the world-wide screen printing industry continues to benefit from the use of both one and two-part frame adhesives that deliver unparalleled, enduring bonds of mesh to screen printing frames  (of all types). And, in the process, have removed the questions about which frame adhesive to use. The first one we'll introduce that has proven to be a market and industry game changer is RhinoMite, a two-part frame adhesive. Outstanding features include:

Durability – this adhesive creates a permanent bond when bonding mesh to frame; it is abrasion resistant and stands up under wear and tear during the daily reclaiming of a screen for reuse (using chemical screen and press wash). RhinoMite can be removed with a frame adhesive remover like ARP 2600.

Flexibility  – designed so that during use under squeegee pressure, the frame adhesive  won’t release from the frame.  And this characteristic is important to ensure its long lasting durability.

The Minimal or Low Odor Factor – what can we say about this other than it is important that a screen maker  NOT be overwhelmed with an odor-producing product, so viola! RhinoMite has a very low odor.

Red or Clear Color – RhinoMite is available in either color at the prerogative of screen printer who either wants to see the adhesive as it is applied on the frame or not.

Long Pot Life – this is especially critical and, unlike other products that have a short 1 – 3 hour pot life, RhinoMite Frame Adhesive can be used up to 5 days after catalyzed when properly sealed in an air tight container.  You get the benefits of a product easy to work with over a period of time with less waste of adhesive, money and time.

Variety of Viscosities – this is important when a screen maker is using many different grades of mesh counts. Because RhinoMite Frame Adhesive is available in 15, 17 and 19% solids content,  the thinner the adhesive the easier it is to penetrate through the weave of high mesh counts (305 and higher) to enable a thorough, superior bond to frame.
