Again, this laser paper offers a
finished product that looks as if it’s been screen printed. When transferred onto white/light color mouse
pads, it leaves no window; only the toner transfers. And, it’s weedless. It’s
available in 8.5” x 11” and 11” x 17”.
To
print the design, we used the OKI c831-TS LASER printer that is a CMYK printer.
Simply follow directions on the instruction sheet that is included. And, we
recommend using a Swingman 20 Heat Press with digital time, temperature and
pressure controls.
Follow
these steps to create a Mouse Pad:
-Print
design in MIRROR IMAGE, so that it will end up being RIGHT READING.
-Position
mouse pad onto heat press bed.
-With
MEDIUM PRESSURE, heat press for 25 seconds at 330° F.
-
Carefully, HOT PEEL the transfer by beginning at a corner and rolling the paper
back in one smooth motion.
And,
that’s it. In just 30 seconds, your customer can have a customized mouse pad.
RECAP
OF SYSTEMS AND TOOLS:
-
SingleStep™ Heat Transfer Paper that offers an easy step toward adding another
dimension of customer service to a digital, screen printing or embroidery shop
with little investment.
Craftsters
and hobbyists can also easily work with this affordable system in a home-based
studio or garage environment.

You already know about RhinoDARK™ heat transfer paper for DARK garments. Not only is it a radical way to DIGITALLY
transfer brilliant color and intense white to all DARK apparel and fabrics,
it’s also weedless. You can apply it to 50/50 blends, 100% Cotton and polyester
like Dri-Fit fabric.
These are the steps on how to add Textile Metallic
Foil:
Crinkle foil by crunching and
crushing and rolling it around.
Next, flatten the foil.
Place it on top of the design
on the shirt that you’ve already positioned onto the heat press platen.
Heat press at 330 degrees F
for 25-30 seconds.
Let shirt cool.
Carefully roll metallic foil
off the shirt and Voila! A major pop of metallic color!
Again, for just pennies worth
of foil, the value of your product has been raised by a minimum of $2 (or
whatever you decide your marketplace can handle).
Often undervalued is the quality of the HEAT PRESS that is necessary in the
digital, heat transfer printing process. Because PRESSURE, TEMPERATURE and TIME
are critical factors to ensuring the best product output, as possible, we can’t
stress enough the value of investing in a great performing heat press.
Presented in this step-by-step video is the RT Swingman 20 with a platen size of
16” x 20”. The
RT Swingman 25P with a platen dimension of 20” x 25” is also an
excellent option in the high-quality/affordability department.
The RT Swingman Heat Press Features:
DIGITAL CONTROLS such as an
ON and OFF switch that is easily accessible in front of system.
A digital TIMER that can be programmed for up to 99 minutes.
A TEMPERATURE control that can be digitally set for up to 450 degrees F
or 232 C.
Easy to operate Touch screen.
Easy to set and lock in time, temp and pressure settings.
Phenomenal heating element.
Simple swing-away element.
Efficient Timer alert.
Another amazing feature is the PRESSURE reading sensor. The heat press operator
has the ability to use these settings: 1-3 for light pressure, 4-6 for medium
and 7-9 for the highest pressure setting.
Make your life easier: KEEP A LOG OF THE PRESSURE SETTINGS USED FOR SPECIFIC
CUSTOMER PROJECTS. You'll never have to guess at a repeat order.
And, the LEVELING PLATEN on the RT Swingman is adjustable. It can adjust up to
1 3/4” to enable you to digitally transfer designs made with SinglePrint™ heat
transfer laser paper to FLAT glass and light color wood plaques, leather,
Acrylic, ceramic and metal. This paper is available in 8.5" x 11" and 11" x 17".
RhinoDARK! It's the newest generation of laser heat transfer paper that will let you apply color and bright white to all
DARK apparel and fabrics. Use it on 50/50 blends, 100% cotton and
polyester like Dri-Fit t-shirts. It’s available in 8.5” x 11” and 11” x
17”. Use it with these recommended printers: OKI 920 WT, OKI 711 WT.
HOW TO PRINT THE DESIGN RhnoDARK is a two-step process
using a Printable Film and Paper. The first step is to print on the Film
Sheet (A sheet) that will help to ensure that it is not affected by
humidity and that no expansion and contracting of the design will take
place (great for use in hot and humid areas). On this polyester coated
sheet, there is a dull and glossy side. Print on the dull side.
Also, remember to mirror the image, so that when it is applied to the shirt it will be right reading.
In the video, we use the OKI 711 WT printer that includes C, Y, M + white cartridges. The
printer will automatically mix in black when printing on a white
garment and enable the color and white to print at the same
time to offer big opacity and greater durability. As you'll soon see, the finished product will display brilliant whites and vivid color.
As we begin, notice that we
load the paper in the front feeder so that it will process straight through to
the back tray, bypassing all roller systems and potential damage to the
coating.
HOW TO TRANSFER THE DESIGN
Take Transfer Sheet (B sheet) and dog ear (fold down) the corner.
Place it on the A sheet – the one with the printed image. It’ll be easier to peel this way, especially when it’s a hot peel. MAJOR
NOTE AT THIS POINT: THE CORRECT TIME AND TEMPERATURE SETTINGS ARE 360
DEGREES for 90 SECONDS (NOT what is mentioned in the video). 2nd
Major Note: we’re using the RT DK20A – auto release heat press. Works
great, but make sure that your chin is not above the bar when it’s
released!
HOT PEEL immediately and smoothly.
Note that the coating on the B Sheet has transferred to the
A Sheet everywhere that there is toner on the A sheet.
Now, we recommend cutting off the edges of the A Sheet (image sheet).
No need to trim RhinoDARK - it's a weedless paper. Only the toner transfers.
Next, press the shirt to remove moisture and wrinkles for about 10 seconds.
Place design on shirt. Press for 360 degrees for 30 seconds.
Remove shirt.
Let design COOL and then COLD PEEL.
You’ll note that the design shows up with a hi-gloss.
To dim the gloss, lay the shirt onto press.
Place parchment paper on top of design.
Press
for 15-30 seconds and the results will be a matte finish with brilliant
color and bright white that will pop off the shirt.
To add dimension, Textile Metallic Foil is a great choice.
After the design has been transferred to the shirt, crunch foil, place
on top of the design, repress, and your design will be eye-popping. You
can also add rhinestones.
For best results, it is recommended that solid colors only be used in
the artwork. We also recommend printing white toner over all the color
for greater opacity when printing on DARK garments.

Step-by-step Instruction on how to Produce Vivid, colorful, individualized puzzles that
will Make your Customer and Others Outrageously Happy:
1. Print
out design on SingleJet heat transfer paper (available in 8” x 11” and 11” x 17”).
For this particular puzzle, Greg used an 11” x 17” sheet and trimmed it down.
This way, there wouldn’t be a lot of over- hang and it would be easier to HOT
PEEL immediately after heat pressing.
TIP: make sure you have a
copy of the design to be used as the 252 piece puzzle guide.
2.Place
parchment paper on heat press bed.
3.Line
up puzzle and paper and place on top of parchment paper.
4.Heat
press at 350 degrees F for 16 seconds at MEDIUM PRESSURE.
TIP: use the RT - SW1620 HeatPress with digital time and temperature controls for great results.
5.HOT
PEEL IMMEDIATELY and CAREFULLY – it’s hot!
Let
puzzle cool and then it is ready to be wrapped or separated into pieces.
